In 1855 the wildest showgirl of the nineteenth century, Lola Montez, toured Australia & its goldfields.

The scandal is legend.

From award-winning playwright Jackie Smith and world famous cabaret stars Finucane & Smith comes the story of The Exotic Lives of Lola Montez.

Starring triple Green Room Award Winners of Best Actress Miss Caroline Lee (who is also a direct descendant of Lola herself!) and Parisian dance siren Mme Holly Durant, The Exotic Lives of Lola Montez is a wildly contemporary dreamscape steeped in Australian history. Discover the story behind one of the world’s most adventurous women.

Lola Montez’s erotic Spider Dance was “The most libertinish and indelicate performance that could be given on the public stage” wrote the Sydney Morning Herald in 1855. She horsewhipped the editor of the Ballarat Times for giving her a bad review. She swung down mineshafts on a single rope with a flute of champagne in her hand. She escaped arrest dressed only in her jewels.

Now, watch her rollick into Ararat and let the erotic scandal commence!
