Dr Jared Cooney Horvagth

 

Jared Cooney Horvath PhD (The University of Melbourne), MEd (Harvard) is an Educational Neuroscientist with expertise in human learning, memory, and brain stimulation. Jared has conducted research and lectured at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, The University of Melbourne, and over 40 schools around Australia.

Jared has published four books, over 30 research articles, and his work has been featured in numerous popular publications, including The Economist, WIRED, The New Yorker, New Scientist, and ABC’s Catalyst. Jared currently serves as a research fellow at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, an Honorary Research Fellow at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, and is director of the Science of Learning Group – a team dedicated to bringing the latest in brain & behavioural research to teachers, students, and parents alike.

The Science of Learning Research Hub aims to translate robust learning sciences into educational and pedagogical practice – ensuring that we ‘teach how we preach.’ The Hub is located within the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and serves as a collaborative space where researchers and practitioners with interest in learning can share ideas and work together on learning-related research. The Hub includes researchers in education, psychology, neuroscience, computer science, philosophy, sociology and other disciplinary areas.
