40 million people around the world, and 4,300 in Australia, are victims of some form of modern slavery, including sex trafficking, debt bondage or forced labour. This is the human rights issue of our time.

Chris Crewther MP lives in Dunkley with his wife Grace and their one-year-old daughter Yasmin. He has been the Federal Member for Dunkley since July 2016. From his home in Frankston, Chris previously ran his own small business, primarily in agricultural exports/trade. He is also a volunteer Director/Committee Member of several not-for-profit organisations. Chris' broad experience includes being an International Lawyer through the United Nations at the Kosovo Property Agency in Pristina, Kosovo (resolving property claims for people who lost possession of their property due to conflict), an Advisor to Liberal Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson, a lawyer in private practice, legislative/legal and policy roles at the Department of Agriculture, a Project Manager at AIATSIS, a Magistrates’ Associate and a Liberal candidate at the 2013 Federal Election. Chris has completed a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, a Master of Laws specialising in International Law (ANU) and a Master of Diplomacy with Distinction (ANU), in which he was awarded the James Ingram AO Prize for top academic excellence (dux). GORDON RENOUF

Gordon is the CEO and co-founder of Good On You, the ethical fashion app. He was formally the Director of Policy and Campaigns at CHOICE, Australia’s leading consumer organisation. While at CHOICE Gordon came to realise that most people want to make consumer choices that are good for the world, but it’s often too hard to do so. Gordon is a member of the board of Good Environmental Choice Australia, an environmental certification scheme, Deputy Chair of Justice Connect and Deputy Chair of the Consumers Federation of Australia. He represents consumers on several industry dispute schemes including the Telecommunications Industry and was formerly a member of the Commonwealth Consumer Affairs Advisory Council and the Council of Consumers International.

 

Laura is a business and human rights practitioner with a keen interest in how companies and the non-for-profit sector can engage in meaningful and sustainable social impact. After starting her career in non-for-profits, Laura turned her attention to the corporate world where she currently works with Konica Minolta as Ethical Sourcing Lead. In this role Laura has developed and is implementing the company’s Ethical Sourcing Roadmap, as well as overseeing their Human Rights Position Statement and advocacy efforts. Outside of work Laura, channels her energy into volunteering for Fashion Revolution Australia.

Andrea Nave is CEO of Forget Me Not Australia. She facilitated the change necessary to move Forget Me Not from the defunct orphanage-model to nurturing hearts and minds through innovative programs focused on family preservation, reunification and development. Working in India, Nepal and Uganda, Andrea has insisted on best practice, and impactful prevention and reintegration projects raising children to be thriving, vibrant and connected to family, community and opportunity.
