Print and Passion: the impact and legacy of printed books in England

In this lecture Shane Carmody will explore some of the stories of printed books in England and their collectors. Drawing on many of the great libraries of the Britain, Shane will show how the printed book helped to change the face of English society and establish English as a dominant language. Along the way we will meet many bibliomaniacs and see some of the remnants of their collections in private, university and public libraries.
