The St Kilda Historical Society presents author Daniela Riachi discussing the life and work of Carlo Catani (1852-1918) who became the Victorian Public Works Chief Engineer. Catani is renowned for altering the landscape and use of the St Kilda foreshore and parts of Elwood. Daniela will discuss Catani’s career spanning some 41 years and his numerous works which remain of great historical, aesthetic, architectural and scientific significance to the State of Victoria.
