You can't have a revolution without dancing, so the closing night party of the 2018 FEM&IST Film Festival features Les Yé Yé Girls; the girl-powered bastardization of the English “yeah yeah,” and a branch of sixties French pop that foregrounded women’s voices. This Francophone take on bubblegum teen pop pays homage to the likes of Sylvie Vartan, France Gall and Françoise Hardy. Between these belles et le beat you will shake, twist and smash the patriarchy!
