Come for a 30 minute walk with Elaine Bayes and Karl Just to explore one of Victoria's early discovered Eltham Copper Butterfly colonies. There are around 100 ECB in the Northern section of the Botanic Gardens. Right now ECB caterpillars will be coming out at night on the Sweet Bursaria with their security guards (ants). They will be trying to eat as much as they can so they have the energy to change into a butterfly and emerge in November/December to look for mates.
