Join us to hear how you can support your teen and stay connected to them. The presentation will include:
- Understanding why adolescents behave the way they do.
- Emotions, mood and brain development during the teenage years.
- Strategies for keeping communication lines open, setting boundaries and promoting resilience and independence.
- Understanding the changing relationship as your teenager becomes more independent.
- Helping your teen to grow towards their best possible adult!
About the Presenter
Kate Wilde is an educator, counsellor and development worker with over twenty-five years experience working with young people, their families and communities. Kate spent five years at Manningham Youth & Family Services as a counsellor and Programs Coordinator and then as the Youth Programs Coordinator for Upper Yarra Community House.
In 2005 Kate founded ‘The Workshop’ with Richard Williams and has gone on to become a highly respected provider of programs to agencies, schools, refugee groups, LGA’s and community organisations. Kate is an engaging facilitator and maintains a small counselling practice working with young people and their families.
