Schubert’s sublime String Quintet is the platform for a homecoming performance in which Novocastrians Anthony Albrecht and Thomas Chawner (violist of the award-winning Orava Quartet) perform together for the first time since school days. The concert opens with one of Shostakovich’s best-known and most shattering works – the String Quartet No. 8.
