As part of the German Academy's contribution to ADELAIDE GERMAN WEEK 2026, this exclusive and fun evening hosted by the German Academy's Frauke Guenther is set to test not only your knowledge about all things German, but also your German language and acting skills! Playing in small teams, you will be challenged with a German QUIZ, followed by German CHARADES and some German IMPROV THEATRE, where each group will be asked to act out typical German scenes – with their performance then scored by everyone else! This exhilarating and highly interactive event also accompanied by Hildegard Belzer will - of course - be held in German and will be suitable for participants with a minimum of approximately 36-48 months of guided language study or above. Ticket price includes a welcome drink, variety of finger foods & German cake! Please indicate vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free requirements at the time of booking. Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating German culture, cuisine, and hospitality as part of Adelaide German Week. Hosted at the Miele Experience Centre, this exclusive culinary event will take guests on a journey through the flavours of Germany with interactive food stations featuring traditional favourites, including a charcuterie and cheese selection, Bratwurst, a Kartoffel Bar showcasing classic German potato dishes, and a delicious dessert station to finish off the evening. Enjoy live cooking demonstrations from Miele's culinary team and discover the capabilities of Miele's innovative appliances. Complementing the food will be a curated selection of wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, creating the perfect setting for an evening of great food, great company, and German hospitality. This is a standing culinary event, rather than a seated dinner. Guests will be able to move around throughout the evening, explore the different food stations, enjoy a variety of German dishes and drinks, and mingle with other guests.

When the Revolutions of 1848 failed, a group of remarkable radicals began meeting in the pubs of Berlin, seeking a new place to call home. They eventually settled in South Australia in 1849, where these 160 migrants brought fresh ideas, talents, and ambitions to the colony, leaving an unexpected legacy in science, art, education, and culture. Join award-winning historian Samuel Doering in the Thomas Cooper Room at the Original Coopers Alehouse to discover how a failed revolution - and a few beers in Berlin - helped change South Australia forever! From Germany to the Adelaide Hills – The Jurlique Story Adelaide German Week 2026 – The Story of Jurlique Join us for a special Adelaide German Week experience at the beautiful Jurlique Farm in the Adelaide Hills, hosted by Jurlique´s Tourism and Farm Manager, Cherie Hutchinson. Founded by German-born Ulrike and Dr Jürgen Klein, Jurlique has grown from its Adelaide Hills beginnings into an internationally recognised skincare brand. What to expect 10:40 am Arrival and check-in. (Please arrive 20 minutes before the event begins) 11:00 am Guided Jurlique Farm Tour Explore the farm and learn about Jurlique’s biodynamic farming principles, botanicals and the journey from farm to skincare. Hand-picking experience Guests will have the opportunity to hand-pick selected botanicals and experience the farm first-hand. 12:30 pm The Story of Jurlique A special guest speaker, to be confirmed, will share insights into Jurlique’s German founders, their vision and the story behind the brand. Hosted by Matthew P. Williams, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany, and presented by Adelaide German Week Inc. in collaboration with the German Business Chamber of South Australia and State Opera South Australia, the Gala celebrates German language, culture and music in one of Adelaide’s most beautiful theatres while strengthening the enduring connections between Germany and South Australia.
