The Arabic Language and Culture Association of South Australia Inc. (ALCASA) aims to build bridges between South Australian Arabic speaking communities and the wider Community through projects that promote and celebrate cultural diversity. Since 2013, ALCASA has been organising and participating in cultural events and hosting monthly social and educational meetups. Madinati: Every Story Shapes Our City, Interactive Workshop

Madinati: Every Story Shapes Our City, is an interactive exhibition at the Minor Works Building Community Centre (April to May 2026). On Sunday 14 June, artists Ahmed Elkhalidi and Rua Hashlamoun are facilitating a second interactive art workshop to explore with participants how cities are shaped by our personal stories and life experience. Artistic resources will be provided at the workshop. Limited number of places available. Book now to ensure participation. The launch provides a rare chance to engage with the artists, Ahmed Elkhalidi and Rua Hashlamoun, to explore the exhibition, and gain a deeper understanding of the stories and memories that foster a sense of belonging across our city.

Community Singing: Arabic Arts Alive 2026

Love Arabic music? Ready to raise your voice and sing with others in the Arabic speaking community?  Join the Arabic Arts Alive 2026 Singing Group and work with professional Arabic speaking musicians in a warm, creative, and inspiring environment. Our teachers are excited to meet you and take you on a journey across the beautiful diversity of Arabic music through song. * No experience needed – just bring your energy and a smile! * Learn to sing Arabic songs  * Meet new people and celebrate Arabic culture together  Rehearsals Dates: 27/02, 13/03, 27/03, 10/04, 24/04, 8/05, 22/05, 5/06 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm Subject to availability, dabke Rehearsals may be booked free of charge by participants enrolled in the Community Singing Group.
