Mandolin, Madrigals and More Modern Music

Friday 19 July 2024
MANDOLIN, MADRIGALS & MORE MODERN MUSIC was conceived to explore the possibilities presented by the recent arrival of a baroque mandolin in Darwin. We discovered various sweet and contrasting ways to feature the instrument, eventually straying from the baroque theme to include music by the Beatles and Joni Mitchell. This concert features one of Vivaldi’s mandolin arias, a couple of 18th-century sonatas, motets, and works from 20th-century pop and folk music. Seriously good music with a quirky NT twist!
