The team are here to answer your questions, connect you with local services, and provide a range of job-readiness supports, training and programs. Brimbank Change Makers Program - Community Showcase Event

Join us for an inspiring evening as the Brimbank Change Makers cohort share their journeys, ideas, and visions for the future. Over the past several months, a group of passionate young leaders from Brimbank have taken part in workshops, co-design sessions, and leadership development experiences focused on creating positive change in their community. The Community Showcase is their opportunity to present what they’ve learned, the ideas they’ve developed, and the impact they hope to make next. This event brings together community members, local leaders, council representatives, and potential supporters to celebrate the achievements of these emerging change makers and to spark new connections that can help their ideas grow. Throughout the evening, participants will deliver creative final presentations sharing their personal stories, reflections, and community initiatives. Presentations may include slides, videos, demonstrations, or other creative formats, followed by short Q&A conversations with the audience. Expect an evening of insightful storytelling, fresh ideas, and community connection. Food and drinks will be provided. The construction induction card (white card) course provides you with the mandatory work health and safety training required to work in the construction industry. You'll learn: - How to develop personal safety awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury/harm to self or others. - Identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. - Correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work. Over 3 weeks in the Skills Lab: Content Creation program, you’ll learn how to plan, film, and edit engaging content with guidance from media professionals. For people who live, work, or study in Brimbank aged 15 - 25. Over 2 sessions, gain your Level 1 Volleyball Australia referee accreditation. This course is designed to provide a foundational understanding of volleyball refereeing, including basic rules, signaling and match protocols. A Level 1 Referee Accreditation is the minimum requirement for officiating at a variety of competitions around Australia, and is an important steppingstone for those looking to reach higher levels of Accreditation. You'll gain hands-on learning that will teach you all about: - How to cut different haircuts, including fades, scissor cuts, tapers, mullets - The different barbering tools - Proper hygiene - What makes good customer service - How to start your own barbering business You'll also get to visit The Penny Club Barbershop and see their shop in action, give haircuts to the community, and meet and network with other local barbers. Sessions will take place Thursdays & Fridays 4pm - 6pm on: Feb 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 Mar 6,7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 A program not to be missed. For young people aged 15-24 from Brimbank.
