Just A Farmer Film Night and special Panel discussion

Thursday 10 October 2024
Join Castlemaine Safe Space in an awareness raising movie night and panel discussion. Learn more about the Castlemaine Safe Space and the work we do and watch “Just A Farmer” – a feature film which follows the story of a farming family and community who are rocked by the loss of a treasured local hero. The movie explores mental health, resilience and issues around medical services in rural and regional Australia. The viewing will be followed by a panel discussion and Q and A, with the farmer-turned-filmmaker behind it, Leila McDougall and others who are working in this space. This event has been supported by Wesley Mission – LifeForce, and is also supported by funding from Murray PHN through the Australian Government’s PHN Program. We are also grateful to Roses in the Ocean, FRRR and the Mount Alexander Shire Council for further support. Please note: This film depicts mental health issues and suicide.
