It's a chance to get together as a community, so bring along your family and friends, embrace the winter chill, and enjoy a fun-filled family-friendly night out. You must have a ticket to enter the grounds. This is not a BYO event; you can purchase beverages on the ground.

    For adults. Petrea King from Quest For Life will demonstrate how the keys to resilience and happiness enable us to skillfully embrace our challenges. If you want to be less buffeted by life’s ups and downs, and more able to respond rather than react when things go ‘wrong’, join us for this practical workshop. You’ll learn about the wonders of neuroplasticity, (the brain’s ability to re-wire) and how we’re never too old to reclaim our brain!

Learn the basics of painting and decorating ceramics, including how ceramic colours differ from regular paints, how you apply them to clay, and about different types of clay and firing. Why were they carried across countries and oceans when other belongings remained behind? The workshop will explore these questions and how the stories behind heirlooms can be revealed. You’ll undertake exercises designed to kick-start writing your own family’s story.

    For everyone 12+ Learn how to become a citizen scientist, a whiz at tracking bushfire recovery, and help record the changes to our environment since the Black Summer of 2019/20. Ecologist Casey Kirchhoff (whose Wingello home burned down in the Morton Fire) will show you how to contribute your observations to the Environment Recovery Project using iNaturalist, an app created by the California Academy of Sciences and the National Geographic Society.

    Join us for a screening of Headhunt Revisited, winner Best Foreign Documentary at the 2017 La Femme International Film Festival. Two contemporary artists retrace the footsteps of Caroline Mytinger, a painter who, in 1926, set out to capture Melanesia’s inhabitants in the “Land of Headhunters”—the wilds of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Presented by Lynne Ainsworth whose family has a long association with Papua New Guinea. Prints of Caroline Mytinger’s work will be on display.
