Step back in time at the historic Burnett House for our fortnightly Devonshire Tea. Occurring twice every month, this experience invites you into the heart of Myilly Point to enjoy a rare glimpse of 1930s elegance. Take some time to relax in our lush tropical gardens and enjoy traditional scones, freshly baked and served with jam and thick cream, as well as your choice of tea, coffee or soft drinks. It’s more than just an afternoon tea, it’s a peaceful sanctuary and a piece of living history waiting to be experienced. 4 Burnett Place, Larrakeyah. Darwin History Walk

Wednesday 8 July 2026
Join our guided walk around Darwin City’s historic sites led by renowned history buff, Trevor Menzies. The route will be a circuit from Roadmasters House over approximately 2 kilometres including some steps. Walkers are advised to bring sunhat, water and comfortable shoes. A maximum of 15 people for this tour. We will meet at 9.15am for a 9.30am start, and finish approx. 11.30am Cost is $15 per person (maximum 15 participants)

Heritage Quiz Night

Are you well read, have a good memory for trivia, know your sports, lover of music, world wise or the best person to scribe? Come along and try your hand. If you can gather a table of 6, even better. And yes, there will be a few Darwin history questions included! Meet us on Thursday, 9 July at the Darwin Trailer Boat Club (8 Atkins Dve, Fannie Bay). Registration is from 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. The cost is $20 per person includes free drink (maximum 25 tables)

Myilly Point Precinct Tours 2023

Between Wednesday 21 June 2023 and Wednesday 13 December 2023
Tours of the historic Burnett House and its gardens are available at a cost of $12 per person; they last approximately an hour. The house is the only surviving example of B.C.G. Burnett’s Type ‘K’ and was unusual in being of two-storey configuration. Currently tours are only available on Wednesday. If you’d like to see if a tour is possible on another day, please email nattrustbranchdarwin@gmail.com with at least 48 hours’ notice.
