This Mother’s Day, step back into the golden era of tropical living and treat your mum (or yourself!) to an experience in Old Darwin charms.
On Sunday, 10th May, we are officially opening the Devonshire Tea season with a sophisticated afternoon affair. There is no better way to celebrate Mum than with the simple, elegant pleasure of warm, fluffy scones topped with lashings of jam and cream, set against the breathtaking backdrop of one of Darwin’s most iconic heritage landmarks.
Come for an afternoon and immerse yourself in the magic of years gone by. From the louvered verandas and gentle sea breeze to the lush manicured gardens, Burnett House offers a truly nostalgic escape. To make the day extra special, each booking on Mother’s Day includes a complimentary glass of champagne, and a lucky door prize is also on offer.
Tables are a maximum of six seats. To ensure your party is seated at the same table, please make your booking under a single name. If you are booking separately but wish to sit together, kindly inform our organisers in advance. Gluten-free options are available, please advise organisers.

Step back in time at the historic Burnett House for our fortnightly Devonshire Tea. Occurring twice every month, this experience invites you into the heart of Myilly Point to enjoy a rare glimpse of 1930s elegance.
Take some time to relax in our lush tropical gardens and enjoy traditional scones, freshly baked and served with jam and thick cream, as well as your choice of tea, coffee or soft drinks.
It’s more than just an afternoon tea, it’s a peaceful sanctuary and a piece of living history waiting to be experienced.

Myilly Point Precinct Tours 2023

Tours of the historic Burnett House and its gardens are available at a cost of $12 per person; they last approximately an hour. The house is the only surviving example of B.C.G. Burnett’s Type ‘K’ and was unusual in being of two-storey configuration.
Currently tours are only available on Wednesday. If you’d like to see if a tour is possible on another day, please email nattrustbranchdarwin@gmail.com with at least 48 hours’ notice.
