Children's Book Council of Australia, Qld Branch

The Children's Book Council is an Australia-wide organisation which aims to foster children's enjoyment of books. On a national level, the organisation of the annual Children's Book of the Year Awards and Children's Book Week are important ways of achieving this aim. The Qld Branch is organised by volunteers and operates out of the Qld Writers Centre located in the State Library of Queensland (SLQ).

Jenny Stubbs - CBCA Nan Chauncy Award Winner 2023

Please join Children's Book Council of Australia - Queensland Branch to honour our life member, Jenny Stubbs who has been bestowed with this prestigious national award. A limited number of guests can enjoy a High Tea including freshly made dainty gourmet ribbon sandwiches, petite quiches and frittatas. Also served will be traditional plain scones with jam and cream, sultana scones, decadent pastries and sweets prepared by the Pastry Chefs. This will be served with a glass of Chandon sparkling wine and your choice of La Maison Du The French handcrafted teas. A cash bar will also be available for those who would like another beverage. Join CBCA Qld Branch for the 2023 Book Week Event - Read Grow Inspire. This will be a breakfast event on Sunday 27 August at the Garden's Cafe Mt Coot-tha. Arrive by 9am for a 9.30 start. $20 admission plus pay for your own breakfast when you arrive. Breakfast must be pre-booked by2pm, 23rd August. Our special guests will be Isobelle Carmody and Ingrid Bartkowiak. Join us for some Book Week fun. You can also buy raffle tickets here, even if you are not coming to the breakfast.
