The Baldivis Children’s Forest is a multi-award winning, grassroots, not-for-profit organisation that works to engage the local community sustainably with the environment through a variety of different programs and events.

Step into the forest after dark for a guided night walk for adults.
This experience offers a unique opportunity to explore Baldivis Children’s Forest in a quieter, more immersive way. As the environment changes after sunset, you’ll notice different sounds, movement, and activity that aren’t seen during the day.
This is a natural bush setting, not a lit pathway.
Participants will have the opportunity to use thermal imaging equipment, UV torches, and red light torches throughout the walk.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for local wildlife, including possums, kangaroos, phascogales and tawny frogmouths, along with other nocturnal species.
We’re a friendly group, so if you’re thinking of coming along on your own, you’re absolutely welcome.
Damper and hot beverages will be provided at the end of the walk.

Important Information:
Terrain is uneven
The environment will be dark
Spiders and other wildlife are present
We supply red torches.
Please bring a head torch.

Step into the forest for a gentle 1.5 hour session where children can squish, shape and create with wet clay surrounded by birdsong, breeze and rustling leaves.
No step-by-step.
No right or wrong.
Just space to connect with nature and create in their own way.
What shapes can you see in the forest?
What would you make with your hands?
Could you create something that lives here?
Using a selection of dry forest items (like gumnuts, leaves and bark ) for inspiration, children can explore textures and patterns… maybe even create 🖤 Black Carnaby’s Cockatoo that nest in the forest.
They can stand, shape and create with their hands… then wander, hop and explore the forest.
And the best part — they take their wet clay home to keep creating.

This March, young nature explorers are invited to slow down, look up, and discover the trees that quietly care for Baldivis Children’s Forest.
In this one-hour guided session, children become tree detectives learning how local trees support wildlife, and keep the forest healthy. Expect gentle movement, observation, simple science and creative play, all delivered in a calm, respectful bush setting.

Join our volunteers for a festive evening walk in the forest. Experience the soothing sounds of native wildlife while enjoying a magical atmosphere beneath the stars. Children can craft glow lanterns to illuminate their path and jot down their wishes within them. The forest is always filled with surprises, so who knows what fascinating creatures we might encounter! After the walk, enjoy some festive snacks.
Children must be accompanied by an adult (adults enter free).

The experience provides both fun and educational. We encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to broaden your understanding of the natural world.
The event includes a one-hour wildlife showcase and a 30-minute forest expedition to look for wildlife in the forest.

It’s back! Our much-loved Halloween Night Stalk returns for a spooky forest adventure after dark.
Join us as we explore the forest trails and see what creatures we can spot — frogs calling, kangaroos moving through the scrub, bats overhead, possums, phascogales, spiders, insects, and maybe even the call of a boobook owl.
6:00 PM session – Great for younger kids (some light still in the canopy)

This activity is perfect for children aged 4-12, offering a safe and unique conservation reserve environment where your child can explore their creativity.

Join us in a Great Little Adventure suitable for children between 4 to 10 years old. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult.
No matter the weather, follow the clues on your Detective List to find items in the forest. Read the clues carefully to locate the items and make your way back to base camp with your findings. Once you have found all the items, show them to the BCF Volunteers to receive a certificate of completion.
Maybe make it even more fun if you dress up as a detective!

Come join us for an exciting adventure with our environmental Scientist, Millie, to explore the macroinvertebrates and amphibians that call Outridge Swamp their home!
You'll be amazed by the biodiverse world beneath the swamp's dark, murky waters, just waiting to be discovered.
During this event, you'll get to see some of the key species that inhabit the swamp, including Water Fleas (Daphnia sp), Diving Beetles (Dytiscus sp), and Dragonfly and Damselfly larvae (Order Odonata).
To ensure your safety and comfort during the excursion, please wear long pants and enclosed shoes, and remember your hat and drinking bottle.
This event will take place rain or shine, so come prepared for any weather!
The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 16th, from 10.30am-12.00pm, costing $15 per child.

Join our resident qualified environmental Scientist Millie to discover what macroinvertebrates and amphibians live in Outridge Swamp
.
"Underneath the dark murky waters of Outridge Swamp, lives a biodiverse world of macroinvertebrates waiting to be discovered"
A few key species you will see are Water Fleas (Daphnia sp), Diving Beetles (Dytiscus sp), and Dragonfly and Damselfly larvae (Order Odonata)
Wear long pants and enclosed shoes and a hat .Please bring a drinking bottle.

Great Little Adventure for Children Ages 2 to 10 years, children must be accompanied by an adult. Rain or shine follow the clues on your Detective List to find items in the forest by reading the clues. Make your way back to base camp with your items to show BCF Volunteers you have solved the clues. Then enjoy a hot chocolate and receive a certificate of completion.

This Sunday, we are inviting the community of Baldivis to help us with our loopy lupins in the forest. Lupins are an invasive weed that does not belong in the Forest.
On Sunday, we will be weeding the lupins out of the forest as well as learning about why they are a weed. To say thank you to the lovely people who volunteer their time on Sunday, we are offering a free sausage sizzle at the end .

This workshop is an opportunity for high school youth to connect with nature, explore creative thinking and experience the benefits of mindful drawing. They will have the opportunity to explore the forest and observe the intricate patterns of nature, collect found objects, create sculptures and experience mindful drawing as a way to relax. The sculptures created will be used as individual objects for participants to build observation drawing skills through pencil drawings as well as with ink.
