You'll meet members of the Youth Advisory Committee and other young people interested in youth leadership and advocacy, learn new skills and knowledge about effectively engaging with local government about topics that matter most to you and have the chance to speak to some of Port Phillip's Councillors. Explore the Bay!

Are you between 12-25 years old, keen to meet others and take practical action to help the environment? Join the City of Port Phillip x EcoCentre a hands-on beach activity at St Kilda Beach. You'll learn about some of the amazing wildlife that calls Port Phillip Bay home, from the tiny mollusks to our resident penguins and dolphins. Then take part in practical action to help protect them from plastic pollution. Activities include: an introduction to local wildlife and citizen science, participating in a microplastics beach audit and a shell survey and a relay team challenge. Please wear sun protection, a hat and sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle. All other equipment provided.

Grant Writing Workshop This workshop will focus on transforming your ideas into fundable concepts and will walk you step by step through the grant making process. Includes: • Where to find the money • Introduction to the grant making cycle • Writing a 50-word grab • Understanding the assessment criteria • Working with project partners • Answering the questions in the application form • Building a project budget (for a grant application) • Support material About the Facilitator Debby Maziarz is a community development practitioner and creative entrepreneur who mentors artists, organisations and communities to create solid plans for resourcing their work. Renowned for unearthing innovative and ‘fundable’ ideas, Debby is driven to build the capacity of communities to get their important work done. She’s also got a great track record in sourcing funds – including founding Melbourne’s Westside Circus and Debby Maziarz Production.

2-Day DJ Workshop
Are you ready to unleash your inner musical maestro and set the dance floor on fire? Join our resident DJ, Sleepy Jay at our Youth DJ Workshop. At this 2-day workshop you'll get access to professional-grade equipment, learning the ins and outs of turntables and mixers, as you create seamless transitions, perfect beatmatching, and captivating mixes. You'll also learn the fundamentals of music theory and how it applies to DJing and have the opportunity to learn how to score gigs at local events, parties, and festivals! Dates: Thursday 21 and Thursday 28 September Time: 1 pm to 3 pm Where: St Kilda Library Community Room You must be aged 14 - 18 to attend this event and available for both dates. First Aid Workshop for Young People

The City of Port Phillip's Youth Advisory Committee invites you to participate in the third and final workshop of our sustainable living workshop series. If you're aged between 15-18, come down to the St. Kilda Library for a free first aid workshop with Vic First Aid. During the workshop you will learn essential emergency life support skills and, upon completion of the course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited course HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support. After reserving a spot for this workshop you will receive an email with a link to a registration form to be completed through the First Aid provider. If you do not have a USI number you will need to create one - linked on the registration form. Please note that to complete this course CPR must be performed on the floor for 2 minutes. The workshop is free for young people aged 15-18 and will take place at the St. Kilda library - spots are limited to get in quick!

The Self-Defence Hub believe that every individual is capable of self-protection. Our strength is not necessarily made up of mere physical muscle, but is built upon making a conscious choice to reclaim our sense of power in this world. The Self Defence Hub aid in empowering participants by teaching solid self defence skills and showing how they can connect to their power within. Wildlife Gardens Workshop with CERES

The City of Port Phillip's Youth Advisory Committee invites you to participate in the first workshop of our sustainable living series. This FREE three hour workshop is an empowering, hands-on experience where students will discover the importance of biodiversity and how humans positively and negatively impact ecosystems. Learners will understand the most significant contributors to biodiversity loss and how they can take action to reverse the degradation of local ecosystems. Participants will return home inspired with knowledge on specific indigenous plants and the skills to design a wildlife garden for their local community. The workshop is free for young people aged 15-18 and will take place at the St. Kilda library - spots are limited to get in quick!
