The competition will be open to students from 8 to 18 years old who live in or attend schools in the Cumberland City Council LGA or are members of the Council library service. The competition provides opportunities for young writers and illustrators to showcase their talents. Cumberland Young Writers Competition Ages 12-14

Cumberland Council Libraries are excited to announce an inaugural Young Writers Award. The competition will be open to students from 8 to 18 years old who live in or attend schools in the Cumberland City Council LGA or are members of the Council library service. The competition provides opportunities for young writers and illustrators to showcase their talents. Cumberland City Council Libraries will be working with bestselling children’s author Ashleigh Barton to run workshops for students who are interested in learning to write. Each session runs for two hours.
