Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Adelaide

The RSCDS is dedicated to promoting Scottish Country Dance. The Society exists to promote and develop Scottish country dancing worldwide for the benefit of present and future generations. The Adelaide and Districts Branch is the longest running branch in Australia and encourages people of all backgrounds and generations to experience the fun, fitness and friendship that this form of social dancing brings.

AULD LANG SYNE - TRY DANCE SCOTTISH

Come and try Scottish country dancing (social dancing, not Highland). Enjoy its toe-tapping music, discover its origins, how it has developed and evolved over the years. No longer confined to Scotland, it has become popular across the world. Suitable for ages 8+. All welcome, but for the safety and enjoyment of all, please do not take to the floor if you have mobility or balance problems. Light refreshments will be served during interval.

Calling all budding dancers across Adelaide and Districts. An evening of family fun, to try your hand (feet actually) at Scottish dancing. Easy ceilidh dances will be called on the night. Light refreshments provided during the break. Doors open 7pm. Dancing at 7:30 pm. Suitables ages 10+. Adults $10, accompanying children FREE (but pls still book a place for them).

NEW CALEDONIA

Be introduced to Dance Scottish! NO, it's NOT Highland, it is the traditional social dancing of Scotland. Learn the basic steps and formations at the heart of most Scottish dances. No prior experience required, no partner needed, just a love of moving to music and having fun. Please wear comfortable loose clothing and flat shoes you can move in. Please also bring a water bottle. Ticket price covers all 8 sessions: Saturdays 2 - 4 pm. 11/11/23, 18/11, 25/11, 2/12, 9/12/23. Then 13/01/24, 20/01 and 27/01/2024.

TARTAN DAY CEILIDH

Come and join in our celebrations for Tartan Day! An afternoon of family fun, to try your hand (feet actually) at Scottish dancing. Easy ceilidh dances will be called and walked on the day. Suitables ages 10+. Irish Hall bar will be open. Food, tea, coffee, water will also be available. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and flat shoes you can move in. A touch of tartan would be great!!
