Fungi & Trees is now holding family friendly tours!
Join fungi enthusiast Tracie MacVean and arborist Tristan Black for a fun and fascinating walk exploring the hidden world of fungi and trees.
Discover colourful mushrooms, learn how fungi help forests grow, and uncover some of the amazing secrets of the natural world. We’ll take a closer look at mushroom anatomy, learn about the special relationships between fungi and plants, and share some simple tips for spotting and identifying fungi in the wild.
Young explorers can learn how to become citizen scientists using a phone app and how to document and photograph fungi for research if they are interested.
The walk will take place at Queen Victoria Park. We will meet at Queen Victoria Playground and explore the area from there.
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Suitable for adults and children aged 7+, with plenty to keep children curious, engaged, and exploring.
