Ink Workshop with Maxine Wade

During this workshop, we will explore the different properties of INKS and use a variety of tools to apply this medium to paper. I will provide you with a range of subjects to use to explore both WATERPROOF and WATER SOLUBLE INKS.
Drawing cartridge paper is not suitable to use with inks, so your paper needs to be either a mixed media pad A3 size or quarter sheet size of watercolour cotton paper – but a lighter weight than 300gsm.

Two Day Creative Workshop with Natalie Fernandez

In this workshop we will make up our own palette of textured paper using a gelli press, which we will then use to create a painting using paper instead of paint.
The paintings will be created by layering different tones of paper over each other to create rich layers of intense and beautiful colour culminating in a still life or landscape.

CONTEMPORARY Still Life with HEIDI WOLFENDEN

Come and join my warm and welcoming Contemporary Still Life Workshop. I'll start the session by introducing you to Modernist artists, Matisse and Cezanne, who were both well known for revolutionising the still life genre.
I’ll show you how to create dynamic and visually appealing compositions. We’ll discuss how to create a focal point, achieve balance and explore variation, cropping and contrast.
I’ll be providing a curated selection of real-life objects & fabrics, as well as an inspiring range of visual reference materials, to spark your creativity!
Firstly, we will create 3-4 rough thumbnail sketches in pencil. This hands-on activity will help you to develop a greater understanding of composition and plan out your artwork. From there, we’ll create a still life painting, using acrylics on canvas. You’ll be provided with plenty of encouragement and guidance along the way! This fun and friendly workshop is ideal for both beginners and intermediate students.

Watercolour Workshop with Rob Candy

This workshop is aimed at building confidence in the ability to use watercolour.
Planning your painting, developing washes, understanding watercolour characteristics, watercolour techniques and textures, increasing brush speed, developing composition and appreciating of shapes and values.
The workshop should appeal to both the beginner and the more advanced artist as we tackle a variety of watercolour landscapes from urban, rural, and coastal scenes.
