Black Light Nights (adults-only edition)

Between Friday 11 September 2026 and Friday 25 September 2026
Join us for Black Light Nights, a limited season of tours in September, to see Glenrock State Conservation Area in a whole new light. In this small-group night tour, you will be provided specialist UV equipment to search for glowing scorpions, spiders, lichen and more. Your guide, Karen, will provide safety information, the science behind fluorescence, and a whole lot of fun. Note that this tour will NOT include bioluminescent mushrooms, which bloom in May/June. Please read the terms and conditions for a tour carefully as purchase of a ticket acknowledges these, and emailed questions are usually covered. For safety reasons, participants must wear closed shoes, long pants and long sleeves. Cleaned safety glasses will be issued. Terms and Conditions: 0. Ticket holders must wear closed shoes, long pants and long sleeves to participate in a tour. They must not be affected by drugs or alcohol. 1. No pets are allowed in national parks. 2. Children are not included on this tour. We have many other tours dedicated just for families! 3. Tours will leave on time. Please arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you can find parking. Join us for Black Light Nights, a limited season of tours in September, to see Glenrock State Conservation Area in a whole new light. In this small-group night tour, you will be provided specialist UV equipment to search for glowing scorpions, spiders, lichen and more. Your guide, Karen, will provide safety information, the science behind fluorescence, and a whole lot of fun. For safety reasons, children must be aged 8+ to participate and will share UV equipment with their supervising adult. All participants must wear long pants, long sleeves and closed shoes. You don't need to have kids to join, but there are dedicated adults-only tours each Friday night too. Note that this tour will NOT include bioluminescent mushrooms, which bloom in May/June.
