Green Grads - ISMS Organic Market Box - 3 August 2023

Green Grads is a Stage 3 initiative to bring organic products straight from the farm to our School community. Stage 3 students source a range of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables directly from a local farm fortnightly (subject to change). The students then sort the products to form a fresh box of goodness that is ready to be chopped, stir-fried, baked, shared, and enjoyed!
The Organic Market Boxes are $65 and available for pick up on Thursday 3/8 with bookings closing on the morning of Tuesday 1/8. For collection, please let us know at the time of order what option suits you best.
This is a fantastic initiative where concepts of healthy eating and environmental sustainability are reinforced. Students are introduced to many fundamentals of building a successful business including economics, entrepreneurship, ethics, marketing and communications, teamwork, and leadership.

Termly x 1.5 hour weekly group sessions
While the children engage in the age appropriate activities, Parents are asked to sit back and observe their child while the two class Educators support your child and model skills and communications. Carers are posed a question each week to ponder while observing. These observations then become the basis for discussion. The session is divided into two parts, firstly an hour for the carer to observe while the child explores and secondly a gathering to share takeaways from the session and ask questions of the Educator.

During these classes we aim to support the carer and child in what is a developmental leap. Whether walking or not the child has now reached a stage where more cognitive development and understanding of language, even if not yet spoken, allows us to offer purposeful activities.
In these sessions we support the carer in how to trust the child to use materials such as water, glass, china and knives in a safe way so as to commence the caring of self, a fundamental element of the Montessori philosophy. At the end of each session the children come together for a shared snack time whilst the carer and guide share observations and learnings from the session.
