Friends of Kings Park
The Friends of Kings Park supports the work of the Botanic Gardens & Parks Authority by active participation in conservation, bushland management and horticulture; education, providing volunteer support and supporting special projects within Kings Park by raising funds for example the Botanic Terraces and Botanic Pavilion.
Wednesday 21 August 2019We invite you to join us to discuss our ClimateWatch activities and to explore the specific plants which have been selected to observe along the Bushland Trail. The walk will be led by the Climatewatch co-ordinators with expert advice and specific insights from Ryan Glowacki, Bushland Manager, BGPAKings Park
Saturday 24 August 2019An exclusive ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour of the Nursery facilities in the lead up to the biggest September plant sale ever. From 10am a guided tour through the Park’s nursery and recycling area will be followed by a ‘close encounter’ with volunteers working in the Friends nursery. Refreshments will be available at the start of the tour in the BCC lunch room. This is a members-only event and places are limited to 24 members.Kings Park Nursery

Sunday 21 July 2019The Friends are holding a Photography Workshop on Sunday, 21st July commencing at 2pm in the Green Room, Education Centre, Kings Park. Photographer John Robinson is leading the Workshop. Participants bring along any type of camera (including phones, iPads, laptops), go out into the Park and take photos, then come back and learn how to correct and edit images. This workshop will run for approximately 2 hours. Places are strictly limited for the Workshop.Green Room, Education Centre
Thursday 13 September 20182018 Festival Address with special guest speaker - horticulturalist, author and presenter on ‘Gardening Australia’, Angus Stewart. Angus is a passionate advocate of native plants. See his ‘Wild at Heart’ video, aired in series 27, episode 33 of ‘Gardening Australia’. Angus will be presenting a talk on the extraordinary and spectacular biodiversity of plants along our south coast.
