Neutral Bay Community Centre

Located in the heart of Neutral Bay, Neutral Bay Community Centre runs low cost health and fitness classes and programs to members. We also offer one-on-one computer lesson and IT tech help, as well as community room with free tea and coffee, newspapers, internet cafe and wifi.

    An art embracing the mind, body and spirit – Originating in ancient China, Tai Chi is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn and soon delivers its health benefits. This is a beginners class and suitable for people who are new to Tai Chi, as well as those who have been practising for some time. Instructor: Peter Kruger Cost: $5

    Ballet Fitness is a gentle, low intensity, 50-minute exercise class using ballet exercise music. It is a combination of ballet steps and low impact exercises. It is designed to increase your strength, flexibility, mobility, and balance. No dance background is required.

    Love dancing? Looking for a way to boost your heart rate and tone your body while having fun? Come to Zumba! Mixing Latin American/pop/international music to dance moves, you will enjoy a workout which uses interval training to improve cardiovascular fitness. Please note this will be a low impact class.

    A strength and balance class for older adults who wish to improve balance and maintain independence, the class is all standing or with a chair, no floor exercises. The class includes stretching and strengthening movements, with a focus on balance. Stephen is a highly experienced instructor who teaches simple exercises proven to improve balance and strength. This class is an easier level than the 8am class but with plenty of progressions for participants to follow and improve physical health.

    Learn and/or play the ancient game of Mahjong at Neutral Bay Community Centre. Mahjong is a tile-based game that was developed during the Qing dynasty in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. Cost: $10.

    Bridge, is a trick-taking card game using a standard 52-card deck. In its basic format, it is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table. Held on Monday morning from 10am - 12pm come along and learn to play bridge with two of our wonderful volunteers and avid bridge players, Alicia and Dennis. Cost: $10, please book online.
