Coinciding with our special evening opening of the museum for Saturday 27 June, we are also offering a guided tour to take in a number of the museum exhibits at night and look at how lighting systems for locomotives, signals, level crossings and stations worked in the past. The tour will visit several of our exhibits specially lit for the occasion, and is expected to take around 40 to 45 minutes.
Our 6pm tour has already booked out, so we have also scheduled an earlier 5:15pm tour.
While the tours will run at 5:15pm and 6pm, You are welcome to arrive well before the start time of the tour and enjoy wandering around the museum and looking at the various exhibits at your own pace.
Numbers for the guided tour are limited and bookings are essential.
This is a night tour in winter, so please ensure you have dressed warmly for the occasion!
NB: For those who simply want to wander around the museum during the evening without taking a guided tour, the museum will also be open for the usual self-guided tours from 12 noon to 7pm. If this sounds more to your liking, you can simply turn up to the museum and purchase our normal admission tickets at the front counter when you arrive, or pre-book on Trybooking via our 'June 2026 at Newport Railway Museum' event page at https://www.trybooking.com/DMMYG
