Formed in 2013, Peninsula Chamber Musicians Inc have rapidly developed into an outstanding presence in the artistic landscape of the Mornington Peninsula. Whether performing intimate chamber recitals or as the energetic Peninsula Chamber Orchestra, the group seeks to touch the hearts of concert goers and inspire the next generation of performers. PCM invites Primary and Secondary school students to attend their family friendly and engaging concerts free of charge.

Sunday 10 November 2019A welcome to the warmer months the concert will start with the joy of Mozart’s overture to Cosi fan tutte. This will then be followed by two pieces for strings, the calm and much loved Adagio by Samuel Barber followed by George Gershwin’s jazz inspired Lullaby. PCM will conclude an exciting year of performances with Mendelssohn’s heroic Symphony No. 3.Peninsula Community Theatre

Sunday 16 June 2019PCM’s second orchestral concert for 2019 in an exciting new location. Begin the concert with Ive’s The Unanswered Question and contemplate the discussion between the string ensemble, wind quartet and solo trumpet as each section strives to have the final answer to the “Question of Existence”. The performance will conclude with a much more settled tone and two pieces by Mozart. The Sinfonia Concertante for solo violin and viola, and finally his Symphony No. 39.The Village Church

Sunday 3 March 2019Continuing with our tradition of starting the year with one of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, PCM is pleased to start this year with the lively Brandenburg Concerto No. 4. This will be followed by Beethoven’s majestic Symphony No. 3, “The Eroica”. This work is grounded in the classical era and is renowned for the way it stretched the musical boundaries of that time to welcome the beginning of the Romantic era. A true welcome to the end of winter and longer days, the concert will start with the much loved Spring by Vivaldi and Puccini’s homage to flowers, Chrysanthemum. This will be followed by Weber’s Concertino for Clarinet, performed by Peninsula Chamber Musicians’ founding member, Paul Jenkins.
