Project Bucephalus

Project Bucephalus is a robotics group that has been representing FIRST® in Wollongong since 2010. Named after the warhorse of Alexander the Great, Project Bucephalus competes in the FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Robotics Competition. The group has many years of experience running LEGO® robotics activities for children and adults.

Project Bucephalus Robo Club (Master Class)

Term 3: 30th July - 24th Sep 2024
Robo Club is an after-school robotics class. Students use LEGO MINDSTORMS technology to in a series of challenges and games designed to pass on critical STEM skills: computer programming, engineering, robotics, and more! The Master Class runs at TAFE NSW Wollongong Campus and is designed for high-school students

Robo Camp is a LEGO® Robotics workshop that caters to students of all skill levels. “Introduction to MINDSTORMS®” is designed for novice students, whilst our Advanced courses are designed for those wanting a more complicated challenge. Project Bucephalus has been running robotics programs for children and adults since 2011. We offer an exciting program that builds interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in unique ways!

Project Bucephalus FRC Intake

Project Bucephalus is recruiting high-school students for "REEFSCAPE", the 2025 season of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). We are seeking students with an interest in fields like engineering, electronics, writing, videography, photography, business, management, computer programming, graphic design - or just willing to work very hard! Dive Deep into Submerged (FLL Challenge 2024)

Saturday 24th August 10am to 3pm
Whether you're a Rookie or Veteran coach in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge, this online and in-person workshop will offer something to improve your season: from analysis of the "Submerged" game, to picking an Innovation Project and understanding Core Values. Veteran teams will be sharing lessons learned from decades of competition experience, working to improve the FLL experience for everyone. Good Luck and Have Fun!

Project Bucephalus: Rocketing Girls Into Robotics!

Rocketing Girls Into Robotics is a FREE program to launch Illawarra girls into STEM! Taught by the experienced members of Project Bucephalus, the program will seek to engage girls from Year 3 to Year 8. Ideally, students should be nominated through their school. 2023 Science Week Robot Sumo Tournament

Project Bucephalus 2021 Workshop Visit

Friday 22 January 2021
Project Bucephalus is holding a series of workshop visits for students interested in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). The sessions are aimed at students in years 6-10 with an interest in STEM, writing, videography, photography, business, management or graphic design! Interested students (and their families!) are invited to visit the team workshop during the current season to see what's involved in taking part. New students would join the team in late 2021.

Project Bucephalus Robotics Online

Robotics Online is an virtual robotics class where students use LEGO MINDSTORMS technology in lessons taught via Google Hangouts. Students participate in a series of challenges and games designed to pass on critical STEM skills: computer programming, engineering, robotics and more! The Online class is designed for students aged 7+. Students will need a computer with webcam and microphone, as well as a Google account (to access Hangouts) and an EV3 MINDSTORMS Kit.

Robo Club is an after-school robotics class. Students use LEGO MINDSTORMS technology to in a series of challenges and games designed to pass on critical STEM skills: computer programming, engineering, robotics, and more! The Nowra Senior Class runs at the Nowra Anglican College (NAC) and is designed for students aged 11+. Younger students should check out the Nowra Junior Class instead.
