Felt Making Workshop with Yvonne Dalton

Saturday 12 October 2024
Participants are asked to bring a laundry bucket and three old bath towels. All other materials supplied, including a take-home felting kit. You will learn a range of introductory felting techniques, including how to incorporate recycled material and threads into a unique scarf to take home. This workshop provides you with the skills and materials to continue with other felting projects at home. Please make sure to bring a packed lunch/snacks (or the bakery is a short walk away). Textured and patterned earrings/pendant Workshop

During this 4 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of jewellery making, including - how to cut using a piercing saw - using hammers to create textures and patterns - use roller printing to emboss patterns onto metal These techniques will be applied to create up to 4 pairs of earrings or pendants using brass and copper. We will also be looking at ways to incorporate found materials into the jewellery as well. All materials and tools required will be supplied, including brass, copper and sterling silver earring hooks. No experience is necessary. Please bring any ideas with you. Workshop run by Sarah Rothe.

Create Your Own Mobile (CANCELLED)

Create your own mobile using recycled and collected materials with renowned Barrossa artist Rachel Porter! Working with recycled metals and other materials, Rachel will guide you through the process of getting the right distribution of your of your mobile pieces to get the perfect balance and spin. You will be taught how to emboss metal and be privy lots of Rachel's other ideas when it comes to mobile making. All materials will be included however we will be using sticks for the base of the design so you are more than welcome to bring along your own if you find something special. Open to Adults and Children 8 or over. Children must be accompanied by an Adult participating in the workshop Free coffee & Tea will be available BYO drink and snacks if you like Bonus!
