CTRL+ALT+CREATE | Ramble Arts Online Studio | Term 1, 2026

Sunday 1 February 2026
Somewhere between river and stars, drifting worlds await. Not everything has to make sense to exist. CTRL+ALT+CREATE is a low-pressure, highly-experimental creative program that takes place inside Ramble Arts Online Studio (our Discord server). Built for 13-18 year olds who daydream, who have busy brains and hands, who hoard unfinished projects and half-baked ideas, who want to create but don't want the pressure of needing to make anything good. This term, we're stepping into the universe of Betwixt River and Stars. Five worlds. One magic river. And a flying ship brimming with scientists, explorers, merchants, misfits and thieves. Explore ancient libraries, dance beneath dusty night market lights, dip your webbed toes into the licks of water that float across the edges of space. Fall in love, make an enemy, explore time through generations. Every Sunday, a new prompt is dropped into the server, and the universe shifts. Perhaps a sudden catastrophe, an unwelcome visitor, a major anniversary. Or a subtle ripple in the water, a quiet whisper beyond the pages. You're invited to: - Build your own character(s) - Drop them into the universe and roleplay with other participants' characters - Interact casually or dive deep into the plot - Stay solo and create on your own terms How you interact is totally up to you! - Write poems - Write short stories - Create visual art responses - Write a song - Develop a soundtrack - Draw maps - Design clothes - Experiment - Make a mess Alongside open-world roleplaying and Sunday prompt drops, this term is sprinkled with cozy online events, beginning with: A live reading of the Betwixt River and Stars universe lore! DATE: Wednesday 4th of Feb TIME: 5PM - 6:30PM (SA TIME) WHERE: Voice-Chat, Ramble Arts Online Studio Can't wait to learn more about Betwixt River and Stars? Go here: https://thelandsoftheriver.world/ This initiative has been made possible by grant funding from the Rural Health Innovation Fund, supported by Country SA PHN.

Teen Ensemble | Piss Days 100

Wednesday 17 December 2025
15-year-old playwright and poet, Mali Harkin-Noack, has written a poignant, urgent and poetic new play, experimental in form and original in voice. But we didn't want to do that play. We wanted to do her other play. Piss Days 100 is gloriously dumb, unfiltered, full of piss jokes and cardboard props. Come and see the award-winning Teen Ensemble, performing something that will win them no awards.

Additionally, every Tuesday and Thursday evening (5:30pm-6:45pm), you are invited to drop in and join us in text and voice chat to meet other young creatives, share your work, collab, problem-solve, give feedback, and pick the brain of artist and mentor, Sage Wilde.

War of the Worlds

Between Friday 7 March 2025 and Saturday 15 March 2025
The night before they came, I was watching a shooting star. I snapped it. I said it was ‘beautiful’. I didn’t know I was watching death coming. I should have known. This shit always happens to us. If they were ever going to come to Earth, of course it was now. In a groundbreaking collaboration spanning more than a thousand kilometres of mallee scrub and desert, country teens bunker down to survive The War of the Worlds. Performed simultaneously in three locations by exceptional local casts, country teenagers across two states hold tight to their friends, their noise cancelling headphones and whatever scraps of news they can get. Part sci-fi thriller and part love letter to the resilience of today’s teens, experience the invasion from Whyalla, Barmera or Bendigo; whichever is closest for you.

Auditions: The Bacchae (Renmark)

Saturday 29 July 2023
We are forming a new Senior Ensemble to stage this (very modern take on a) Greek tragedy. We're looking for actors between 14 and 27 of any gender. Folks aged 18-27 will be required to get a volunteers working with children check. What is The Bacchae? A play written over 2000 years ago, directed by artistic director Fleur Kilpatrick. It is a violent play - originally written as a warning about what happens when you disobey the gods. Today it reads as a play about women and queer people acting out, taking up space and stepping outside of social norms. How will the auditions run? This play is driven by its ensemble. For this reason, we'll hold group auditions. It will be a mixture of physical and voice work, some group and some solo work. You will be given a monologue to prepare in advance. Fleur is looking to see how you respond to direction, work as an ensemble and what you might bring to the creative process.

3 Day Play! We have Questions

Friday 20 January 2023
Hi friends, we have a question box in our theatre class and each week we try, as a group, to answer them: "How do you make friends with someone?" "Is it normal to want to kiss your friends?" "Is it normal to not want to go home?" "Can I override my anxiety?" Over three days, we plan to have turned our question box into a performance, sharing what we’re most curious about, obsessing over and what's on our minds. Join us and perform on the BIG STAGE at the Chaffey theatre to family and friends!! PS. We're also going to launch the RYT program for 2023! Friday 20th January 10am - 4pm Saturday 21st January 10am - 4pm Sunday 22nd January 10am - 4pm Monday 23rd January 2pm - 7pm @ Chaffey Theatre Renmark **Performance at Chaffey Theatre Renmark at 6pm Monday night!!** Cost: $50 per person
