Adelaide’s prodigal son, the original Mount Lofty Ranger Peter Head is bringing it all back home for a couple of ultra special shows with an all star band to celebrate his 80th birthday!
He’ll also be celebrating the recent launch of his biography Headonism, written with MJ Cornwall (author of To Be Frank: A Fictional Memoir, a life of Australian showbiz legend Frank Thring, and Proby and Me: A Howling Tale Of A Falling Star) which details Peter’s journey from playing piano with Adelaide’s first rock’n’roll band Johnny Mac & The Mac Men aged 15, through his adventures with supergroups Headband and Mount Lofty Rangers, sojourns in London, New York and Sydney’s Kings Cross - as well as stints performing at one time or another with the Rolling Stones, Elton John, the Bee Gees, Bon Scott, John Farnham, Robyn Archer, Keith Moon, Peter Green ( founder of Fleetwood Mac), John Mayall, Boz Burrell from King Crimson and Bad Company, Free, Wendy Saddington, Glenn Shorrock, Jeff St John, Lonnie Lee, Jimmy Little and countless others.
Peter brings a brew of jazzy blues and original songs, drawn from his vast repertoire and albums including In The Key of Night, and New Masters - plus bonus songs from his upcoming tribute album to the master songwriter Randy Newman (Randyman) to this Semaphore Workers Club show and with a band featuring old friends and musical compadres

Peter was inducted into the S.A. Music Hall of Fame along with Robyn Archer, Headband & the Mount Lofty Rangers in 2016, and currently performs solo, with his Randyman sextet and as resident keys-meister for hot new country funk purveyors Cowboy Simple.
