Between Tuesday 9 December 2025 and Tuesday 8 December 2026
Class Objectives: - Transition - Positions for birth - Protecting the perineum - Birthing the placenta and cutting the cord - Consent and informed decision making - Induction process (if required) - Medicalised birth (if required)

Class 3: Breastfeeding for you (ONLINE)

Between Tuesday 16 December 2025 and Tuesday 15 December 2026
Class Objectives: - The health benefits of breastfeeding - Breast changes - Important facts about human milk - The 10 steps to successful breastfeeding - How breastfeeding works - Breastfeeding positioning and attachment - What is normal for the newborn - Common challenges of breastfeeding - Tips for mother and baby

Class 4: Early parenting and post-birth recovery (ONLINE)

Between Tuesday 25 November 2025 and Tuesday 29 December 2026
Class Objectives: - Your post-birth recovery - Your newborn baby (i.e. newborn cares, safe sleeping and wrapping) - Community services (i.e. Visiting Midwifery Service, Child Health Nurse) - Other considerations (i.e. siblings & furry friends, returning to work)

Homebirth Preparedness Class - ONLINE

Between Wednesday 26 November 2025 and Wednesday 30 December 2026
This class is designed for CMP clients who are planning to birth at home or within a home-like environment with an inflatable birth pool. Topics discussed: - pool location - equipment required - practicalities for homebirth This session is facilitated by a midwife experienced in facilitating homebirths. As of 2026, this class will be offered as an evening session every three (3) months with a face to face option available for a limited number of clients.

Homebirth Preparedness Class - FACE TO FACE

Between Wednesday 25 February 2026 and Wednesday 25 November 2026
This class is designed for CMP clients who are planning to birth at home or within a home-like environment with an inflatable birth pool. Topics discussed: - pool location - equipment required - practicalities for homebirth This session is facilitated by a CMP midwife experienced in facilitating homebirths. As of 2026, this class will be offered as an in-person evening event every three (3) months held in the Family Birth Centres education room. Tickets are limited.
