Calmbirth® 2024

Calmbirth® is a highly acclaimed childbirth education program. Calmbirth® prepares couples mentally, emotionally and physically for the birth of their baby. Calmbirth® understands the interrelationship between the mind and body – how our bodies react to our thoughts. Calmbirth® uses this mind- body connection to assist couples to replace the fear, stress and anxiety about giving birth with the knowledge and skills to birth their baby calmly, fearlessly, safely and confidently. One ticket is for both you and a partner/support person.

Baby & Kids First Aid 2024

Between Sunday 13 October 2024 and Sunday 1 December 2024
When you first bring your newborn baby home from hospital it is both an exciting and daunting time. Being prepared and confident in your ability to provide First Aid for your new baby is an important skill to learn. This information session teaches you the very important skills and confidence needed to provide CPR and First Aid in an emergency situation.

Breastfeeding - Virtual Online Session 2024

This Breastfeeding session is run by a lactation consultant from 6:30pm-9pm. Included is: The first breastfeed, breast changes during the first few weeks, the role of rooming in and baby led feeding, positioning and attachment, signs your baby is getting enough milk and overcoming challenges. The beauty of this session is you can take part from the comfort of your own home. An invite with the link to log in will be sent to you a few days before the session starts.

Just for Dads 2024

Between Tuesday 22 October 2024 and Tuesday 10 December 2024
A stand alone session Just for Dads running on an evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Topics covered include: What it means to be dad, dad's role in labour and birth, infant communication, bonding, caring for your baby, dad's role in supporting breastfeeding, changing relationships and roles. A great way to meet some other Dads to be.

Having Your Baby & Becoming Us - Seven Week Session 2024

Wed 23 Oct to 4 Dec 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Having Your Baby is a comprehensive labour, birth, and parenting program run by a midwife and a physiotherapist. This program is run in the evening over five weeks, 6:30pm-8:30pm face to face. Becoming Us - Nest Building complements this session by focusing on the transition into parenthood. This is held online over the last two weeks, 6:30pm-8:30pm. Ideally you would start this program from 26-30 weeks gestation. One ticket is for both you and a partner/support person.

Having Your Baby & Becoming Us Weekend Session 2024

Having Your Baby is a comprehensive labour, birth, and parenting program run by a midwife and a physiotherapist. This session is run over two weeks, eg. consecutive Saturdays 9.30am-3.30pm. Becoming Us complements this session by focusing on the transitions into parenthood. This section of the session is run online over two evenings 6:30pm -8:30pm. Ideally you will begin this program from 26-34 weeks gestation. One ticket is for both you and a partner/support person.

Meeting Baby 2024

Saturday 23 November - 9.30am to 3.30pm
This one day session focuses on meeting your new baby and those important early days with your newborn. This program covers breastfeeding, sleep and settling and normal newborn behaviour as well as postnatal recovery and follows the same curriculum as the Having Your Baby Day 2 program. For this reason this session is ideally attended by those who are doing 'Active Birth' or 'Calmbirth®'. This session is best attended from 28 - 36 weeks gestation. One ticket is for both you and a partner/support person.

Active Birth 2024

Wednesday 27 November 6.00pm to 9.00pm
The Sutherland Hospital's Active Birth program is a one off 3 hour session on Wednesday 6-9pm and Saturday 9.30-12.30, run by a midwife with extensive experience in supporting women achieve a positive and empowered birth using upright and active birth techniques. This is a practical and physiological labour focused program. Ideally this session is best between 26 and 36 weeks gestation. One ticket is for both you and a partner/support person.
