Sneakerheads Album Launch

The funky Footscray hip hop group, Sneakerheads (Al-flex, Vision, DJ Daily and Mellow Sea) have recently released their 2nd project, titled "Vibin' Out!" To celebrate the release they will be launching their album in style, performing live at Pride of our Footscray on Thursday 24th April (ANZAC DAY EVE)! Joining them will be support acts The Inkermen, Billali , Rhooka and Stones, Shynin Armour and DJ Vawnagraphic and Ed Word. This is a must see show filled with local talent, great vibes and plenty of fun at the best night club in the West! USBs of the Vibin' Out project will be available on the night for $10 each. Two Out Of Three Brothers bring the Rainbow Popcorn podcast live to Pride of our Footscray. Each month Lee and Brett host a live screening of a queer classic, featuring their hilarious live commentary throughout the movie. Think Gogglebox, but without that one couple nobody likes and with a movie for the community. Each month there will also be a themed cocktail, created in collaboration with Superbia cocktail bar. April: The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Fasten your garter belt and relive the time-warping, gender-bending cult classic! When a newly engaged couple’s (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon) car breaks down on a rainy night, they wind up in the creepy castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). Thanks to Pride of our Footscray, Ground Level is bringing together its members to show some community love and raise money for GenZine with a fundraiser Drag Bingo hosted by HollyPop! GenZine’s is an annual gender equity art and discussion magazine is based in Melbourne's West, focused on youth-led empowerment and social justice. Ground Level is a unique club for people in business to build local community connections and regain a sense of control, based in the inner west of Melbourne. Ground Level’s members and local small businesses have generously donated over $1200 worth of prizes for the raffle including yoga classes, wine, gift cards, and more! Film Synopsis: Set in Melbourne's western suburbs, middle-aged Aussie battler Johnny reluctantly finds himself back at work in his brother's warehouse after a career setback. However, an unexpected encounter with the vibrant drag scene at a local bar introduces Johnny to an exhilirating new world. About the Film: Big Johnny is a Swinburne University Honors Graduate short-film. The film is to be shot at Pride of our Footscray and neighbouring areas around Melbourne, and serves as a love letter to the Western suburbs of Melbourne while weaving together a narrative that celebrates identity, courage, and belonging. One of Pride's very favourite people is embarking on surgery, top surgery. And, at least not yet, gender affirming top surgery is NOT covered (much) by Medicare, leaving Maddie with a stack of bills higher than our drag queen's wig! So come along for a fun night for a good cause. Pride's going to donate half the ticket money to Maddie, as well as money from drinks (alc and non-alc), from food, from bingo tix and all the rest, so it will be easy to help as you enjoy yourself. Into Your Hands - Religion, Spirituality and Sexuality

Michael Kelly was a gay man, activist and a Catholic who advocated for a radical re-imagining of Catholicism (and other forms of religion) to be explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities. A collection of essays celebrating the legacy of Michael Bernard Kelly, titled Into Your Hands (edited by Andrew Brown, published by Clouds of Magellan), has been recently released, reflecting on these intersections between religion, spirituality and sexuality. This event will have a speaker from the book sharing some reflections, followed by structured & unstructured time for people to have conversations about what religion, spirituality, and sexuality mean to them. We encourage people to attend what will be a night of great discussion and thought.

Pride is having a private thank you party for New Year's Eve to show its appreciation to its regulars, staff, performers, suppliers & part owners. The event is therefore invite only, with start at 4pm & end at 9pm, enabling people to enjoy their traditional New Year Eve activities for the rest of the night. They'll be great drag entertainment with big shows at 6pm & 8pm and certain drinks are provided all night; i.e. Goat Beer, House Wine, Pimms, Sangria, Mojitos, Gin Fizz & Soft Drink.
