In the ideal world surgical wounds go on to heal in a timely manner. But sometimes, not all. We will discuss prevention of surgical wound dehiscence, recommendations of care for surgical wound dehiscence and devices used to speed up healing in these sometimes complex cases. There are international documents to provide us with best practice recommendations to guide our clinical practice.
