Conductor - Michael Milton
Piano - Stephen van der Hoek
The Norwood Symphony Orchestra kicks off its centenary year with the most epic of symphonies! Through its five movements, scored for a huge orchestra, Hector Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique tells the story of an artist's self-destructive spiral into the depths of despair as a result of hopeless, unrequited love.
The symphony will be paired with another great French romantic work, the exquisite Piano Concerto No. 2 by Camille Saint-Saƫns. This piece will delight with its variety of contrasting colours and styles that showcase the versatility of the piano. The orchestra will be joined by soloist Stephen van der Hoek, who many may remember from his stunning performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the NSO in 2021.
