Conductor - Michael Milton
A dazzling array of works by some of the finest female composers of the last century. The program showcases three Australian works, including the world premiere of a new fanfare by local Adelaide composer Emma Knights, along with 20th Century works by trailblazing women Ethel Smyth (UK), Florence Price (USA) and Dora Pejačević (Croatia). This is a rare opportunity to discover these orchestral gems!
Emma Knights (AUS) - Fan for the Fair (world premiere)
Ethel Smyth (UK) - The Boatswain's Mate: Overture (Australian premiere)
Florence Price (USA) - Symphony No. 1: Juba Dance
Maria Grenfell (AUS) - Rock Hopping
Elena Kats-Chernin (AUS) - Dance of the Paper Umbrellas
Dora Pejačević (CRO) - Symphony in F# minor, Op. 41 (Australian premiere)
