Introduction to Bee Keeping

About
Beekeeping is a popular hobby & many people have already found out how enjoyable, & rewarding it is to keep honeybees. It's also a way of ensuring you have a supply of 100% pure, natural honey sourced from local flowering plants.In this workshop, you will learn the basics of beekeeping including:
* identifying bees eg European honey bees, Australian native bees
* the role of Queen, worker & drone bees
* the basics of colony management
* equipment required & the costs in setting up a hive
* bee keeping licences
* bee boxes & flow hives
* pests & diseases that affect bees
* which plants attract bees
* bee products
* bee safety
Cost: $40pp **All participants receive a 300gr jar of honey made at our Centre.
Please note, this is an introductory workshop & participants will not be handling bees
