About
This is the introductory course in Key Word Sign (KWS). A highly experienced presenter facilitates this face to face workshop. Pricing reflects Key Word Sign Australia recommendation and includes the Getting started with Key Word Sign book.You will learn about the principles of KWS and gesture and how this supports communication. You will discover how KWS is different to Auslan, the language of the Deaf Community in Australia.
In the practical component of the course you explore natural gestures and will learn up to 80 signs. You will have the opportunity to practice using speech and sign together in interactive activities, building your skills in a supportive and fun group environment. You will leave the workshop with helpful resources to consolidate your learning and a plan of the next steps in your KWS journey.
The Basic training provides eligibility for Intermediate training. For more information about training levels refer to KWSA website https://kwsa.org.au/training/
