Travel behind steam locomotive 5917 from Newcastle Interchange or Broadmeadow right through to Sydney Central Staion. On arrival you will have ample time to explore the city and have lunch before returning north in the mid afternoon. We will stop for water in each direction at Hawkesbury River, where you can enjoy the river views while 5917 has a drink of water.

In the spirit of The Picnic Train, we encourage travellers to bring their own picnic hamper and beverages.

A buffet service will be available on the Barrington Picnic Train from the lounge car, with a small selection of light snacks, soft drinks, tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages

BYO alcohol is allowed, however, large eskys will not be permitted

Babies and Toddlers:

Babies in arms and small toddlers may be brought along at no additional cost. Babies and toddlers must be nursed and not occupy a booked seat.

Toilets are available in all carriages.

There are limited charging points on the heritage equipment. It is recommended that you bring an external battery charger for your mobile devices.
