'Watandar, My Countryman' presented by Welcome to Maleny Refugee Advocacy Group
When former Afghan Refugee Muzafar Ali, discovers that Afghans have been an integral part of Australia for over 160 years, he begins to photograph their descendants in a search to define his own new Afghan-Australian identity. Then the Taliban take over Afghanistan and his old country comes calling. 'Watandar, My Countryman' celebrates the coming together of ancient cultures.
Tickets are $15 per person with a concession ticket $10. There will be a licensed bar and snacks available for purchase.
Saturday 10th June 2023. Doors open at 6 pm, movie screening at 6.30 pm with a Q & A opportunity after the film with Muzafar Ali and director, Jolyon Hoff.
