Event Overview

To build on LSV's commitment to promoting LGBTQIA+ in lifesaving and the broader community, we invite all members to our upcoming Pride in Lifesaving event on 17 May 2023 to coincide with International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination (IDHOBIT).

This special event will be delivered in three key components providing opportunity to listen, contribute and network.

Please see below the event overview:

• Information session; Facilitated by Pride in Sport, this informative session aims to provide clubs with tips, guidance and advice on how to become a welcoming and inclusive club. This session will also offer an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on what support and resources are needed to meet clubs inclusive and diversity goals.

• Panel discussion; We have actively engaged experts from the Rainbow community and allies, representing lifesaving, sport, culture and industry who will share their key advice, lessons and respective experiences in establishing and sustaining a welcoming and inclusive environment and programs.

• Networking; To acknowledge World Pride 2023 and celebrate LSV’s Pride in Lifesaving, we bring together our members and guests to reflect on the events insights and promote opportunity to discuss and network together over some delicious refreshments.

LSV is a proud ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and encourages everyone to be their authentic selves whilst participating in lifesaving and enjoying our waterways. It’s important that we embrace and celebrate our differences and show in words and actions that everyone is welcome in lifesaving.
