2023 marks the 200th anniversary of Schubert's iconic song cycle, Die schöne Müllerin.
This iconic song cycle was written after a very serious health crisis and closely reflects Schubert's life experience and emotional turmoil. With characteristic perception Schubert selected 20 poems from Wilhelm Müller's The Beautiful Miller’s Daughter and turned the cycle into a musical masterpiece with depth beyond the intention of the poet.
