Facilitating Trauma Group Work - NSW 25th/26th AUGUST

Designed for mental health practitioners who run group sessions as part of their role. This 2-day experiential program offers 15 PACFA CPD points. As a group facilitator you have a duty of care to develop and maintain a safe space for participants – however, in a therapy setting this can be challenging. Participants can be triggered by others’ story; some may flood or overwhelm which can rupture in the group and the flow of the session.The program will help to build your knowledge and skills to be more confident in being able to hold space, developing trust and cohesion, setting firm boundaries/ guidelines and responding to the emotional challenges of group work.
Through instructional sessions, you will learn how to:
Understand Group Dynamics and stages
Set boundaries and contracting
Manage conflict
Manage emotional triggers within the group
Understand the roles within the group
Develop Skills for Trauma informed facilitation
