Stories in the Sky

This one-day workshop will introduce you to the printmaking method of mono printing, then selecting prints to be expressed as a collage. We will look at other artists prints, whose works tell stories of the Sky and be using printmaking inks for contemporary works on Japanese paper. You will receive tutoring in making 2 completed collages and 6- 8 trial prints ('proofs'). Robyn will give a demonstration of the use of inks at the beginning and of collage during the second half of the workshop and be available to assist participants with their works in progress. From the collages and trial prints produced, new expressions can be explored and exhibited, theme of 'Sky', in the total series: Water, Sky and Land at The GRAIN Store, May-June 2023.This workshop will interest artists, print makers and storytellers. Please bring an apron, a sketchbook, a 2B pencil and a piece of your favourite text, poem, lyrics artwork or photograph of the sky that inspires you. All other materials provided.
