The Philippine-Australian Association of the ACT and the Monaro Region Inc. (PAA) is proud to celebrate Philippine Heritage Day in 2023 with an ambitious afternoon programme of Philippine poems, music, dance and history. The ticket price includes a delicious Filipino afternoon tea.The centrepiece is one hour of entertainment in the form of dramatic oral readings, singing and dancing performed by creative and enthusiastic members of the local Philippine-Australian community, including award-winning writer and artist Dr Merlinda Bobis. We highlight how Filipino poets and poems helped to shape Philippine history while also being shaped by it. The poetry-play is co-scripted by award-winning writer Dr. Merlinda Bobis and Marlene Tucker, and is co-directed by Dr. Bobis and Maria Lourdes Doronila.
