About
Things to Ruin: The Songs of Joe Iconis, (Tony Nominated composer of Be More Chill) is a wild collection of contemporary rock songs sung by characters that are chaotic, misunderstood, misrepresented, and stumbling their way through life. With songs about school, childhood, relationships and the industry, these characters fight to overcome the hurdles in their way and understand what it means to be human, keeping their individuality, convictions, and humour intact.
Brought to the Australian Italian Club stage, the Australian Premiere production will be performed as a collaborative cabaret; Matt Taylor (DARE Collective artistic director) has assembled a group of 6 fantastic performers and given them all directorial influence. This Collective approach will showcase the six performers range of skills, having complete artistic control over a song, from narrative, to staging, choreography and costume. This unites the thoughts, morals, values and insights of our collective cast.
