About
This is a two and a half day weaving workshop with Cassie Leatham, Master Weaver (Taungurung, Dja Dja Wurrung) to be held in the Moco Gallery, Halls Gap.Cassie is an indigenous Artist, traditional dancer, educator and a Bushtukka women who is passionate about sharing her skills and knowledge with both indigenous and non indigenous partipants of all ages.
In this workshop you will weave onto a Handmade Porcelain pot using differant indigenous weaving techniques, this can either be using Native Grasses or Raffia, there will also the chance to create a piece of wall art using a Porcelain piece as base to weave on.
There will be a gentle walk to help you identify the types of grasses and material you can use for weaving as well as information for other uses of indigenous plants.
Morning Tea and lunch will be provided and a special Bush Tukka lunch on the 2nd day where a local indigenous person will be sharing the history and culture of the local area.
